This bag pattern has been in the making for over a year. I made my first sample out of an old Amy Butler print that is an all-time favorite of mine. I thought to myself, "If this doesn’t work out, and I only manage to make it once, I want to use fabric I will love for a long time." To my surprise and joy, it worked out really well and just took me a little while to get the pattern finalized. I’ve now made 4 of these bags and have 3 others in the works. It's addicting! As a long-time diamond quilt lover, I wanted to design one of my own. While designing my Second Star quilt pattern, I learned all about the math and methods for making half-rectangle triangles. Ultimately that led me to this fun design. My favorite tool for creating half-rectangle triangles is the HRT Bloc Loc ruler. It is super handy when trimming them down.
