All The Things Tote, Pattern, Sew-A-Long, Soft and Stable

Week 2 of the All The Things Tote Sew-along

We are quilting and cutting out all the pieces this week! PREPPING YOUR FABRIC FOR QUILTINGThis are some simple tips but I find helpful when getting ready to quilt my fabrics. 1: Make sure if your fabric is directional you piece it prior to quilting. 2: Iron your fabric.I know that are some pretty simple tips but they make a difference in the quilting process!  QUILTING ON YOUR DOMESTIC MACHINEThere are different tools and ways to mark and quilt your panels. If you have a favorite method (pin basting, spray basting etc.) use it! Here is a YouTube video I made sharing about how I like to quilt Soft and Stable. Quilting smaller pieces can make the process a little easier than quilting up an entire yard of fabric on your machine. So try cutting out the Bag Body, End panels and Pockets out...

The Violet Backpack

Hello folks. I would like to introduce you to my newest pattern: The Violet Backpack. If you’re a regular around here, you know I like to name my patterns after my nieces’ names. Olivia, Truvy, and Wylie are all namesakes for previous patterns of mine. I knew I would eventually make a pattern named after my own little girl. What I didn’t expect was to do it in the first year of her life! But here we are. I have wanted to design a small backpack for a long time. I wanted one of my own really badly after visiting Disneyland in 2020 (thinking this would be the perfect size for a Disney trip)! The Violet Backpack features one outside zippered pocket—perfect for your phone and keys. Inside, there are three slip pockets. Included in the pattern are instructions...

The Truvy Bag

This bag pattern has been in the making for over a year. I made my first sample out of an old Amy Butler print that is an all-time favorite of mine. I thought to myself, "If this doesn’t work out, and I only manage to make it once, I want to use fabric I will love for a long time." To my surprise and joy, it worked out really well and just took me a little while to get the pattern finalized. I’ve now made 4 of these bags and have 3 others in the works. It's addicting! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. This bag has 4 separate vinyl zipper compartments. The pockets in the body of the bag have significant depth to them, so they will hold a lot of things. The two removable...

Wylie’s Way Quilt

As a long-time diamond quilt lover, I wanted to design one of my own. While designing my Second Star quilt pattern, I learned all about the math and methods for making half-rectangle triangles. Ultimately that led me to this fun design. My favorite tool for creating half-rectangle triangles is the HRT Bloc Loc ruler. It is super handy when trimming them down. I also have a YouTube video that shows some helpful tips and tricks for quickly making half-rectangle triangles. https://youtu.be/PDZFFbkRRv4 This quilt is made from fat quarters—and I’m sure we all of a few extra of those lying around! Grab your pattern here, pick up a ruler while you're at it, and get started! I'm gonna buy me Wylie's Way brb I named this Pattern after my darling...

New York Lattice Quilt

I'm so excited this day is finally here! The idea for this pattern was born over two year ago. I first came across the design idea while visiting New York on New Years Eve in 2017. It was one of the coldest New Years' in 100 years (much to my dismay as a sunshine-loving girl). One of my favorite things to do while traveling is take pictures of shapes that could serve as quilt design ideas. I think I just always seem to have quilts on my brain. We walked through Central Park and spotted some brick that inspired this design! Now you know why it's called New York Lattice. What a time to release this pattern! There is so much going on in the world, and there is especially serious turmoil happening...

Modern Half Hexi Quilt

I am so excited this day is finally here! I have been working on this quilt pattern for quite some time. I spent much of it testing out different color combinations, but then received the opportunity to work with Ruby Star Society as part of their spring market collections. When I saw the collections, I just knew any and all of them could be a perfect fit with my pattern! Check out these three size variations of my #modernhalfhexiquilt. Below is my favorite rendition—a baby-size using the Snap to Grid fabric by Kimberly Kight along with an Add It Up print by Alexia Abegg. I love the playfulness of this color-blocked look. Here is a lap version of the Aviary collection....

Second Star Quilt Pattern

I am SO excited to finally be sharing my Second Star Quilt Pattern with you! I have been working on this pattern for quite some time. This is my very first quilt pattern, and I designed it using Sarah Jane's new fabric collection Peter Pan for Michael Miller Fabrics. The title came from Peter Pan, and, more specifically, the phrase "second star to the right and straight on till morning." I wanted to incorporate two stars in the quilt, and I think the "twinkling star" produces a fun burst effect.  I hope you love it as much as I do. The block finished at 12''. The pattern includes the Flying Geese 4 x 4 method of construction and a quick way of making Half Rectangle Triangles. I am grateful for all the makers that tested my pattern for me. I wanted to share all of their creative variations and versions.  It's amazing...

Camden Street Satchel

I am beyond excited to be releasing this pattern!  It has been in the works for (dare I say it) years!  I am so glad that I can finally set it free. This bag made with one of my favorite products of all time, ByAnnie's Soft and Stable, that gives it great shape, and helps with ease of construct.  I quilted straight lines on my striped fabric.  And just to answer your questions now, the strap is made from a cotton fabric, and covered with a polypro strapping.  It is not leather, but give the appearance of leather, (which I love!) Includes a zippered pocket inside, to secure all your valuables. I love the opportunity to add a pop of color on the inside! Also a back slip pocket for easy access. It is available now as a PDF pattern that you can download.  But don't worry, if you are a paper pattern...

Olivia’s Baskets

I am so excited to finally share this pattern with you!  It has been a long and exciting process to release my very first pattern, but it is at the printers as we speak and will be arriving very shortly. However, I didn't leave you hanging - the PDF version of this pattern will be available during my Cyber Monday special!  You will also receive 20% off in my shop using the code CYBERMONDAY.   My Olivia's Baskets pattern is being released just before the arrival of my 2nd niece, Olivia.  My oldest sister is due with her first baby in just over a week! Yippee! I crafted these sweet fabric baskets for her nursery.  They are made with Soft and Stable, which offers a perfect construction, and, most importantly, a design that's safe for babies. The baskets on the cover feature Lella Boutique's fabulous new line, Sugar Pie, that will be available in...
