#SewPink

I’m so grateful for this opportunity to be part of the ByAnnie #SewPink initiative this month! Raising Breast Cancer awareness is such an important cause, and I’m honored to be part of this initiative.

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. I have a few dear family members that fighting breast cancer battle and I’m grateful everyday for the research and technological advancement that have allowed them and so many others to be here with us still. I know that there are many casualties in the battle against casualties and I feel deeply for anyone who has lost a loved one. I am grateful for the example of so many around me who have taken their health into their own hands and because an advocate for oneself. It’s important for each of us to educate ourselves and work to detect cancer early on so we can better fight it.

To take part in raising awareness, I chose to make my Hello Pouches Pattern. I went through my stash and picked out all my favorite pink fabrics! I even cut into some coveted Heather Ross prints I’ve been saving for years.

I used ByAnnie’s Soft and Stable in the quilted base to give great shape and stability. If you’ve never used Soft and Stable, you’re in for a treat! Check out my YouTube video for tips on quilting with Soft and Stable.

I also used my favorite ByAnnie’s Handbag zippers. They feature and extra-wide zipper tape and long zipper pulls. These pouches are made with a unique zipper installation, and these zippers make the process easy. I used Raspberry zipper for my pouches. Be sure to check out all 48 colors that are available on Annie’s website. Don’t forget to check out the “Sew Pink” items on Annie’s website—30% of the proceeds from these items are being donated to support the cause for the month of October.

Thank you for following along here! Be sure to check out the other incredible makers’ projects and to keep en eye out for those to come.
