Wylie’s Way Quilt

As a long-time diamond quilt lover, I wanted to design one of my own. While designing my Second Star quilt pattern, I learned all about the math and methods for making half-rectangle triangles. Ultimately that led me to this fun design. My favorite tool for creating half-rectangle triangles is the HRT Bloc Loc ruler. It is super handy when trimming them down.

I also have a YouTube video that shows some helpful tips and tricks for quickly making half-rectangle triangles.

This quilt is made from fat quarters—and I’m sure we all of a few extra of those lying around! Grab your pattern here, pick up a ruler while you’re at it, and get started!

I named this Pattern after my darling niece Wylie. She is a joy in my life. She is quiet but mischievous. She always gets her way because she’s just so stinkin cute! I have three nieces on my side of the family, and now they all have their own patterns.

Here are a few pictures of the version I made out of Rashida’s new collection called What Not for Ruby Star Society.

I had the help of some amazing quilt pattern testers and wanted to share a few versions they made also:

I hope you enjoy this quilt inspiration as much as I have. Big thanks to all these amazing quilters for your help and time!

So fun! I cant decided which one I like the most!! You look great Kaitlyn, I’m sure you and hubby are getting so excited. You will be wonderful parents. Parenting is very important–one must have children so someday you can have grandchildren! That is when the fun really begins. We cared for 2 year old Cliff while Max and Jess went backpacking. We spent three days just playing with Cliff! Yard work, housework, sewing, cycling etc was put on hold What ever Cliff did we joined in. It was a wonderful weekend. We have more kids coming this weekend. No sewing till next Tuesday, I’m fine with that. The kids are growing up so fast, one must enjoy every moment. Miss you dear friend, someday I will finish something!!
